James M. Carpenter

Meteorologist, Flight Director

Hi, I'm James!

I'm a meteorologist. I obtained my B.S. in Meteorology from the Florida State University in 2010, and completed my M.S. in Atmospheric Science at the Colorado State University in 2012. As a data maniac, I can interpret a large amount of data from multiple sources to analyze patterns and even predict the future.

I currently put these skills to use as a Flight Director with the NOAA Hurricane Hunters, intentionally flying around and through the most intense conditions on planet Earth.

Both professionally and personally, I possess a wide array of technological and computational curiosities, and frequently take courses through online entities such as Coursera and edX to learn new skills and advance current ones.
